The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission has hosted the maiden edition of the Upstream Invitational Golf Tournament as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and networking among stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The grand finale of the tournament, held in Ogunu, drew key players and industry leaders, including the Chairman of the commission, Magnus Abe; the Commission Chief Executive of NUPRC, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan; and the Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Rabiu Abdullahi Umar.
The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Eze Emu.
Speaking with journalists, Eyesan said the initiative was designed not only to promote golf but also to create a platform for industry players to interact, build relationships and strengthen cooperation within the sector.
He noted that fostering stronger connections among stakeholders would support the continued growth and development of Nigeria’s upstream petroleum industry.
Also speaking, Umar said the tournament had already generated valuable connections among participants and stakeholders, adding that the interactions would create new opportunities for collaboration across the industry.
The event forms part of broader efforts by NUPRC to encourage engagement among operators, regulators and other stakeholders in the country’s oil and gas value chain.
