The Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) has announced its annual pre-season seminar for assessors, referees and assistant referees ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary of the NFF Referees Development Unit, Nasiru Ibrahim, the workshop is designed to improve the officiating standards, fitness levels and technical knowledge of match officials ahead of the new campaign.
The seminar, organised by the NFF Referees Development Unit, will take place at the main bowl of the MKO Abiola National Stadium and the FIFA Goal Project, Package B, from Saturday, August 15 to Saturday, August 29.
Sessions will run daily from 6am to 8pm.
Assessors will begin their classwork on August 15 and 16, before the first group of referees and assistant referees arrive for medical tests on August 17.
The first group will undergo fitness tests on August 18, followed by classwork, practical sessions and tests on August 19 and 20.
The second group will arrive for medical tests on August 21 and take their fitness test on August 22. Their classwork, practicals and tests will run on August 22 and 23.
The third group will arrive for medical tests on August 24 and undergo their fitness test on August 25.
Their classwork, practical sessions and tests are scheduled for August 26 and 28.
The NRA said the programme is aimed at ensuring match officials are adequately prepared for the demands of the new NPFL season.
