NNPC Shuts Down Port Harcourt Refinery For Maintenance

NNPC has announced a maintenance shutdown of the Port Harcourt Refining Company, beginning on May 24, 2025.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has announced the shutting down of the Port Harcourt Refining Company to undergo planned maintenance, beginning on Saturday, May 29, 2025.

In a press statement signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, the company explained that the maintenance is part of a scheduled shutdown and sustainability assessment designed to enhance operational efficiency at the facility.

“We are working closely with all relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), to ensure the maintenance and assessment activities are carried out efficiently and transparently,” the statement read.

NNPC Ltd reaffirmed its commitment to delivering sustainable energy security for Nigeria and emphasized that all necessary steps are being taken to minimise disruptions and maintain transparency throughout the process.
