NMA Rejects Cancer Report Linked To Blessing CEO

NMA says circulating histology report linked to Blessing CEO was not issued to her and belongs to another patient.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State branch, has clarified that a histology report circulating online and linked to Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, was not issued to her, stating that the document belongs to a different patient.

In a statement dated April 1, 2026, and signed by its Chairman, Dr Israel I. Adaigho, and Secretary, Dr Usamah E. Hannah, the association said its attention was drawn to the report allegedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics and reportedly signed by consultant pathologist, Dr O. A. Odigwe.

The statement noted: “Our attention has been drawn to an online histology report purportedly issued to one Blessing Okoro, AKA Blessing CEO, by XINUS MEDICAL DIAGNOSTICS allegedly located in Enugu State. The said histology report was also alleged to have been signed by Dr O. A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist.”

Providing clarification, the NMA said the proprietor of the diagnostic centre confirmed that the facility is located in Asaba, Delta State, and did not issue any report to Blessing Okoro.

According to the association, “That Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State and did not at anytime issue any report to BLESSING OKORO.”

It further explained that the test in question was conducted in May 2025 following a request from a doctor at a private hospital in Asaba for a patient identified as Mbara Deborah.

The statement added: “That Xinus Medical Diagnostics was actually contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to do a confirmatory test on a possible case of breast cancer for his patient, MBARA DEBORAH.

“That the test was done and the result issued to the referring doctor as a case of Breast Cancer on the 9th of May, 2025.”

The association also clarified the origin of the circulating document, stating: “That a copy of that result is the one being circulated online by the Law firm- ALLEN JURIS LAW, with the name MBARA DEBORAH as the patient.

“That the result online from the law firm is the original version issued to the patient through her hospital.”

The NMA said the clarification became necessary due to how the altered report was being used, urging the public to exercise caution.

“This clarification is deemed necessary in view of what the altered report being paraded by Blessing Okoro is now being used for. The members of the public should therefore be guided accordingly.”

The association emphasised the importance of maintaining professional integrity and called on relevant authorities to intervene.

“The integrity of our association and its members is very paramount and should not therefore be taken for granted. We call on the authorities responsible for maintaining law and order to do the needful and save the unsuspecting members of the public from being taken undue advantage of.”

The association urged the public to remain cautious and rely on verified medical information.
