Lawyer and political commentator Liborous Oshoma has criticised the Nigerian government for its egoistic approach and failure to actively engage tech giant, Twitter in the ongoing dispute, in what he says is a clear case of having the worst of us ruling the best of us.

Mr Oshoma stated this on Wednesday when he featured on The Morning Show, an ARISE News breakfast programme and asked the federal government to eat the humble pie in engaging the microblogging site to ensure the spread of hate is restricted using the platform.

According to the lawyer, rather than being humble and open channels of communication and dialogue with the tech giant, the government is comparing the Nigerian president with a separatist leader, Nnamdi Kanu. He describes the comparison as an aberration.
