Usman Yusuf, a former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme says the team that ensured the release of the 27 abducted students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Nigeria’s northwestern Kaduna State succeeded where the federal government failed.
The team was comprised of a former Nigerian leader Olusegun Obasanjo, Mr Yusuf, and controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.
Mr Yusuf, a Professor of Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation insisted that no ransom was paid for the release of the students.
He stated this on Tuesday when he featured on an ARISE News programme, The Morning Show.
