Big breakthrough in automobile technology in Nigeria as the Stallion Group has introduced Nigeria’s first locally assembled electric car, the Hyundai Kona.

It was unveiled at the Stallion Group Automobile factory in Ojo, Lagos.

The Managing Director of Stallion Group, Rohtagi Manish, said the innovation was a step towards an eco-friendly green Lagos.

Manish further stated that the material used to assemble Nigeria’s first 100% electric zero emission car was mostly sourced locally.

The vehicle, when fully charged for 9hrs 35mins, can go a distance of 482km (equivalent of Lagos to Warri), before it requires charging again.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said at the unveiling that the electric car was technology on display.

He also said it is imperative to create an enabling environment for the company to do well, so that it could employ a lot more youths.
