President Bola Tinubu has ordered an immediate six-month ban on the export of raw shea nuts.
Announcing the decision at the Presidential Villa, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, said the move was aimed at curbing informal trade, boosting local processing capacity and capturing more value from the sector.
Kyari explained that the measure is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s shea value chain and generate about $300 million annually in the short term.
