Netanyahu Warns Israel Could Strike Beirut If Hezbollah Attacks Continue

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu says he told US President Trump Israel will target Beirut if Hezbollah attacks persist.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Israel could launch strikes on targets in Beirut if attacks by the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah continue against Israeli cities and civilians.

In a post on X on Monday, Netanyahu said he had spoken with Donald Trump and conveyed Israel’s position regarding ongoing hostilities with Hezbollah.

“Tonight, I spoke with President Trump and told him that if Hezbollah does not cease attacking our cities and citizens—Israel will attack terror targets in Beirut,” Netanyahu wrote.

He added that Israel’s position remained unchanged and indicated that military operations in southern Lebanon would continue.

“This stance of ours remains unchanged.

“In parallel, the IDF will continue to operate as planned in southern Lebanon.”

The comments come as dispute remain high along the Israel-Lebanon border, where exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah have continued despite international efforts to prevent a wider regional conflict.

Netanyahu’s remarks signal that Israel is prepared to broaden its military response if attacks from Hezbollah persist, while maintaining ongoing operations by the Israel Defense Forces in southern Lebanon.
