NDC Disowns ‘Fake’ Primary Results, Dickson Summons NEC Meeting In Abuja

NDC dismisses circulating primary results as fake and announces NEC meeting ahead of official candidate list submission.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday advised the public to disregard the various results circulating on the social media as the outcome of the nationwide primaries conducted on May 28 and 29.

The party said the results of the primaries are presently in the protective custody of the National Executive Council (NEC) solely responsible for their announcements.

The NDC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, explained that the National Leader of the party, Henry Seriake Dickson has ordered for a NEC meeting on Wednesday June 3.

He said the public and stakeholders will be availed of the results of NDC primaries when the list of candidates to fly the party’s flag would be sent to the Independent National Electoral Commisson (INEC).

The statement reads, “The general public is hereby urged to disregard the various results circulating on social media as the outcome of the nation wide primaries conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC on the 28th and 29th of May, 2026.

“The results of the primaries are with the National Executive Council, NEC of our great party. They are solely responsible for announcements of results.

“On the order of the National Leader of our party, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson, a NEC meeting of the party has been called. Therefore, all members of NEC are to arrive at Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting on Tuesday, 2nd of June while the NEC meeting will be held on Wednesday, 3rd of June, 2026.

“The general public and stakeholders will be availed of the results of our primaries when we send the list of candidates to fly our party’s flag to the INEC.”
