Vice president, Kashim Shetima’s visit to Plateau state, to condole with the victims of the recent killings in 17 communities by Terrorists has generated reactions on social media.

The Vice president, who was representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was at Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi, and parts of Mangu Local government areas, where the Terrorists killed over 100 people and displaced many residents.

Shettima assured the victims that killings in the state must stop, adding that Tinubu would not relent in ensuring that the affected communities get justice and residents are safe.

Nigerians have reacted to the Visit By Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang who attended a house party organised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amid the killing of over 150 people in his state over the weekend by terrorists. Stand-up comedian,Seyi Law, visited Nigerian Army troops on Christmas Day.

In a post on X, the comedian said that the budget for the Nigerian military is actually meagre compared to what is truly needed to fight insurgency. The comedian further disclosed that his time spent in the capital of Borno has exposed him to a lot of knowledge on the catastrophe of the prolonged insurgency battle in northern Nigeria. The entertainer also prayed for God’s protection for the troops.

Tributes have been pouring in for Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu who died on Wednesday morning at the age of 67.

Before his death, the Ondo state governor had been away from the state since June for medical treatment. On September 7th, Akeredolu returned to Nigeria after a three-month medical leave in Germany and was operating from his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. Newly sworn-in governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa declared a three day mourning.

In the meantime, an old video showing when Akeredolu spoke about the power in people’s names while eulogizing Aiyedatiwa who at the time replaced the former deputy governor Agboola Ajayi has gone viral. Akeredolu was speaking during his inauguration speech for his second term in office.
