Mike Ezuruonye, Uzor Arukwe Star in New YouTube Movie ‘Big Fish’

Mike Ezuruonye and Uzor Arukwe headline “Big Fish”, marking their first major on-screen collaboration in a YouTube Nollywood release.

Nigerian actors Mike Ezuruonye and Uzor Arukwe headlined a newly released comedy film, Big Fish, which premiered on YouTube via NollyFilm Media, a platform under Webek Studios.

The film was officially released this week and also features actor Emem Ufot.

Produced by NollyFilm Media, the movie tells the story of Odogwu’s pursuit of fatherhood, which unexpectedly entangles him in the chaotic life of Izuchukwu.

The film blends comedy and drama, exploring themes of relationships, family, and personal ambition.

According to the producers, the release marks a significant step in NollyFilm Media’s efforts to grow its audience base by delivering original Nollywood content via YouTube.

The platform, owned by Esse Akwawa, Edith, and Bizzle Osikoya, is part of a broader strategy to reach digital viewers within and beyond Nigeria.

Speaking on the project, Executive Producer Esse Akwawa said the film reflects the studio’s commitment to high-quality storytelling.

“We believe Big Fish will resonate with audiences globally, especially with the combination of Mike Ezuruonye and Uzor Arukwe, who bring strong comedic chemistry to the screen,” she said.

The film was made available free to view on NollyFilm Media’s YouTube channel, continuing a trend among Nigerian producers to bypass traditional cinema distribution in favour of online platforms. The strategy aims to reach a wider audience and adapt to changing viewer habits.
