Manchester City are closing in on the £65 million signing of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, with documents exchanged and the transfer poised to be completed after his medical this Thursday, according to Fabrizio Romano.
City and Bournemouth have agreed the fee, and Semenyo is set to sign a long‑term deal following his medical tests, with only formalities remaining.
Fabrizio tweeted, “Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City, here we go! Documents exchanged and sealed with Bournemouth. £65m transfer fee, Semenyo to sign long term deal after medical tests on Thursday. Semenyo picked #MCFC over 4 PL top clubs as wanted to work under Pep Guardiola.”
The Ghana international opted for Manchester City despite interest from several Premier League clubs, drawn by the opportunity to play under Pep Guardiola.
Antoine Semenyo has been a central figure in Bournemouth’s attack, contributing significantly in both goals and assists throughout his time at the club. In total, he has scored around 30 goals in 101 Premier League appearances and provided approximately 10 assists, highlighting his importance to the team’s offensive play.
During the 2024–25 Premier League season, Semenyo netted 11 goals and registered about five assists in 37 appearances, establishing himself as one of Bournemouth’s most reliable attacking options. His performances consistently drew attention from top clubs across Europe.
In the 2025–26 season, leading up to early January, he had already scored nine goals and contributed three assists, including a dramatic late winner on his birthday, which was likely his final game for the club. His consistent scoring and playmaking ability have made him a standout talent in the Premier League.
