Three high-profile brothers once known for selling luxury real estate have been convicted in a major sex-trafficking case in New York after a jury found they drugged and assaulted multiple women over several years.
Brothers Tal Alexander, 39, Oren Alexander, 38, and Alon Alexander, 38, were found guilty on all ten criminal charges, including sex trafficking and sexual exploitation of a minor, following a trial in New York City.
Prosecutors said the brothers used their wealth, influence and access to luxury homes to lure women to parties and private gatherings where they were drugged and sexually assaulted.
Tal and Oren Alexander had built a reputation as prominent real estate brokers in New York and Miami, where they handled high-value property deals and worked with wealthy clients and celebrities.
The jury heard that the assaults took place over decades and involved dozens of women.
During the five-week trial, 11 women testified against the brothers. Several said they were underage at the time of the alleged incidents.
The witnesses told the court they were offered gifts, trips and invitations to luxury parties before being given drinks that were allegedly spiked with drugs.
Prosecutors said the defendants secretly placed drugs in victims’ drinks and then sexually assaulted them when they were incapacitated.
They also alleged that in some cases the victims were physically restrained while the assaults took place.
Assistant US Attorney Andrew Jones told jurors in closing arguments that the brothers carried out the crimes with “callousness” and without remorse.
According to prosecutors, the defendants even showed “a perverse sense of pride” in their actions.
Lawyers representing the brothers rejected the accusations and argued that the encounters described during the trial were consensual.
Defence lawyer Marc Agnifilo, who represented Oren Alexander, described the brothers as womanisers but denied they committed rape.
Agnifilo previously represented music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in a separate sex trafficking trial last year.
During the trial, jurors were shown video footage that prosecutors said depicted Oren Alexander assaulting a 17-year-old girl at his Manhattan apartment in 2009.
The case also drew additional attention after a new allegation surfaced during the proceedings.
Reality television personality and real estate agent Tracy Tutor filed a separate civil lawsuit accusing Oren Alexander of drugging and sexually assaulting her in New York in 2024.
A lawyer for the defendant described the lawsuit as false and intended to generate media attention.
The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
US Attorney Jay Clayton said the verdict represented an important step in the fight against sex trafficking.
Clayton said the jury recognised the defendants’ actions as calculated and brutal abuse against numerous victims.
He added that while the verdict cannot undo the harm suffered by those affected, it sends a message that authorities are committed to confronting sex trafficking.
Following the verdict, Agnifilo said the defence team would continue to challenge the outcome.
Tal and Oren Alexander previously worked for property firm Douglas Elliman, where they handled luxury listings for celebrities including Liam Gallagher, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
In 2022, the brothers launched their own New York-based real estate company called Official.
Their younger brother Alon Alexander worked separately at the family’s private security company, Kent Security.
Sentencing for the three men is scheduled for August 6. If given the maximum penalty, they could face life imprisonment.
