Vice Presidential Candidate to Peter Obi in the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Senator Rabiu Kwankwasohas congratulated the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the former governor of Kano State, described Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, as a deserving winner of the people’s mandate.
“As a leader of the opposition and a committed democrat, I commend the people of Osun State for exercising their democratic rights and reaffirming the power of the people’s mandate,” the statement read.
Kwankwaso noted that the outcome of the election was a reminder that “when citizens remain committed to their civic responsibilities and make their voices heard, the people’s will must prevail.”
He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the conduct of the poll and urged all stakeholders to continue to uphold the principles of credible, peaceful and transparent elections.
“Congratulations once again to Governor Adeleke and the good people of Osun State,” he concluded.
