King Expresses Concern As Police Consider Epstein-Related Allegations Against Prince Andrew

King Charles expresses concern as police consider allegations against Prince Andrew linked to Jeffrey Epstein documents.

King Charles made his first public intervention regarding the latest revelations in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, saying Buckingham Palace was ready to support the police if approached about allegations against his brother, Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

A Palace spokesperson said: “The King has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct. While the specific claims in question are for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police we stand ready to support them as you would expect.”

Thames Valley Police confirmed it was assessing whether there were grounds to investigate a complaint filed by the anti-monarchy group Republic. The group reported Mountbatten-Windsor for suspected misconduct in public office and breach of official secrets.

Emails released in the most recent batch of Epstein documents appeared to show the former prince forwarding reports of official visits to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, as well as confidential investment opportunities, to Epstein shortly after receiving them from his then-special adviser, Amit Patel. One set of documents indicated that on 30 November 2010, he forwarded official visit reports to Epstein just five minutes after receiving them, and on 24 December 2010, he allegedly passed along confidential investment details from Afghanistan. Under official guidance, trade envoys are required to maintain confidentiality over sensitive commercial or political information.

Buckingham Palace reiterated that the King and Queen’s “thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain with, the victims of any and all forms of abuse.”

Earlier on Monday, King Charles visited Clitheroe, where a heckler shouted, “How long have you known about Andrew?” prompting boos from the crowd.

The Palace statement followed a similar intervention by the spokesperson for the Prince and Princess of Wales, who said they were “deeply concerned” by the latest revelations regarding Epstein, adding that their “thoughts remain focused on the victims” ahead of Prince William’s upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia.

Since the release of more than three million documents related to Epstein, pressure on Mountbatten-Windsor intensified, with claims that a second woman was sent to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with him. Some photographs in the files reportedly showed Andrew in compromising positions.

The new revelations also caused embarrassment for his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, whose name appeared on emails appealing to Epstein for support and funds.

In late January 2026, Andrew was moved from Royal Lodge in Windsor to King Charles’s private estate in Sandringham earlier than expected. Previously, in October 2025, he was stripped of his royal titles as a prince and a duke after a prior wave of Epstein-related disclosures.

Prince Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing. Officials noted that being named in the Epstein files does not, in itself, indicate misconduct.
