Justin Bieber Drops Surprise Album Swag, His Most Personal Project Yet Since Becoming a Father

Justin Bieber surprises fans with Swag, a 21-track album inspired by fatherhood, love, and deep personal growth

Justin Bieber shocked fans on Friday with the surprise release of Swag, his seventh studio album and his first since becoming a father.

The 21-track record arrived just hours after cryptic billboards appeared in Reykjavik, Iceland and Los Angeles, and Bieber teased its arrival with a tracklist and visuals on Instagram. It marks his first full-length release since 2021’s Justiceand kicks off a new musical era described by his label, Def Jam Recordings, as “deeply personal and reflective.”

“Inspired by his devotion as a husband and father, this new era of music has fueled a deeper perspective,” Def Jam said.

Bieber’s fans, who have followed him from teen idol to husband to now dad of baby Jack Blues Bieber, are calling Swagone of his most intimate and mature works yet.

“Daises,” A lush, slow-burning standout that blends Bieber’s alternative R&B sound with lo-fi guitar. His soft, polished vocals shine through, reminding longtime fans of his signature charm this time through a more grounded, grown-up lens.

“Devotion” ft. Dijon, An emotional duet with rising R&B artist Dijon, this track explores commitment and depth in love. It’s tender and soulful, the kind of collaboration fans didn’t know they needed but now can’t stop replaying.

“Go Baby” An ode to Hailey Bieber, whom Justin married in 2018, the song is a playful tribute to their relationship and her billion-dollar Rhode skincare brand.

“That’s my baby, she’s iconic,” he sings, “iPhone case, lip gloss on it.”

“Walking Away,” Honest about the challenges of marriage, Bieber leans into emotional vulnerability here. The mid-tempo groove captures the push and pull of love and resilience” perfect for dancing in the kitchen with your partner,” one fan wrote.

“All I Can Take,” Opening the album, this throwback-style track fuses Bieber’s early pop grooves with the sophistication of his present-day experiences.

“Ooh, baby, don’t it feel good? You don’t have to think twice,” he sings, warm and sincere.

Swag is Bieber’s first release since selling the rights to his back catalog to UK-based Hipgnosis in 2023. The $200 million deal included hits from across his career from Baby and Sorry to Peaches and Stay.

Since then, he’s taken a lower public profile, surfacing only occasionally while adjusting to fatherhood and married life. His new music reflects that transition less party, more purpose.

For fans old and new, Swag offers a look into Justin Bieber’s life today, still stylish, still melodic, but more soulful and sincere than ever.
