John Boyega Welcomes First Child With Wife Lashontae Heckard

Boyega shares first glimpse of his baby months after revealing his secret marriage to American actress Lashontae Heckard.

Nigerian-British actor John Boyega has welcomed his first child with his wife, American actress Lashontae “Tae” Heckard, months after publicly revealing that the couple had secretly married.

The 34-year-old actor announced the baby’s arrival on Instagram, sharing a video of himself cradling the newborn alongside photographs taken during Heckard’s pregnancy.

Boyega disclosed that their child had been with them “for some time” and thanked fans for their congratulatory messages.

“Back to feeding this big baby!” he wrote.

The actor also used the announcement to ask fans to extend their good wishes to his sister, who he revealed was preparing to give birth.

Heckard responded to the post with an affectionate message, writing, “Love and blessings to my Blessing.”

Several celebrities joined fans in congratulating the couple, including Fast and Furious actor Tyrese Gibson.

According to reports, Heckard has also updated her Instagram biography to reflect her married name, “Tae Boyega.”

The American actress, widely reported to be 48, although she has not publicly confirmed her age, is known for her appearances in the film ATL and television series The Game.

She has a son from a previous relationship, making the newborn her second child and Boyega’s first.

The announcement follows Boyega’s recent disclosure that he and Heckard had been married for almost two years, despite keeping their relationship away from public attention.

Speaking in an interview while promoting the documentary Damilola: The Untold Story, Boyega revealed that the couple had held a small wedding ceremony.

He also expressed interest in organising a bigger celebration in the future, joking that when the time comes, “we’ll have to shut Nigeria down.”

During the interview, Boyega confirmed that he and Heckard were expecting a child, marking the first time he had publicly discussed their growing family.

By the time he shared the announcement on Instagram, the baby had already arrived.

Boyega, whose parents are Nigerian, has frequently spoken about his connection to his heritage, making references to Nigeria in interviews and public appearances.
