Joe Biden Diagnosed with Aggressive Prostate Cancer

US Former President Biden has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, his office confirmed.

Former US President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has metastasised to his bones, according to a statement released by his personal office on Sunday.

The 82-year-old former president, who served from 2021 to 2025, sought medical attention last week after experiencing worsening urinary symptoms. Subsequent examinations revealed a new prostate nodule.

A biopsy conducted on Friday confirmed the presence of prostate cancer with a Gleason score of 9, categorised as Grade Group 5 — indicating a high-grade, fast-growing form of the disease.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”

Biden and his family are currently consulting with his medical team to determine the most appropriate treatment plan moving forward.
