Iran Expands Military Arsenal With 1,000 New Drones Amid Rising Tensions

Iran’s army has received 1,000 new drones to enhance its military capabilities

Iran has bolstered its military capabilities with the delivery of 1,000 advanced drones to its army, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency. The move comes as tensions remain high with arch-enemies Israel and the United States, particularly with Donald Trump set to return as U.S. president.

The drones, distributed across various strategic locations in Iran, are equipped with cutting-edge stealth and anti-fortification technologies. They boast a range of over 2,000 kilometres and are designed to penetrate defence systems with their low Radar Cross Section. Additionally, the drones are capable of autonomous flight, enhancing reconnaissance, border surveillance, and combat operations.

“The drones’ unique features, including a range of over 2,000 kilometres, high destructive power, the ability to pass through defence layers with low Radar Cross Section, and autonomous flight, not only increase the depth of reconnaissance and border monitoring but also boost the combat capability of the army’s drone fleet in confronting distant targets,” Tasnim reported.

This development coincides with Iran’s ongoing two-month-long military exercises, which have included extensive war games by the elite Revolutionary Guards. These drills simulated the defence of critical nuclear facilities in Natanz against hypothetical missile and drone strikes, underscoring Iran’s focus on safeguarding its strategic assets.

The delivery of these drones reflects Iran’s commitment to strengthening its military arsenal amidst persistent geopolitical pressures.
