Insecurity: Former Ruling APC Chairman Oyegun Says ‘Nigeria is Virtually Under Invasion’

John Odigie Oyegun, a former National Chairman of the Nigerian governing All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the rising insecurity plaguing the country has shown that the West African country is under invasion.

Oyegun who was a guest on one of the programs of ARISE News told the station that there are plans by non-state actors to undermine the nation and the government of the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I think this nation is virtually under invasion. I think somebody somewhere has a plan to undermine this nation, to undermine our government, to make it seem they are not in control, that they are not in charge. And this to me is more worrisome because a lot of those involved are non-Nigerians,” Oyegun told ARISE News.

“Secondly and more worrisome is that we have this spread nationwide of those we call herdsmen who carry rifles in virtually every community in this country today, they have set up their own villages, and the question I ask every day is that if each of this agglomeration all over the country, rise up with their rifles, can we cope?
