Insecurity: Ebonyi Approves Recruitment of 2,600 into Hunters Service

To qualify for recruitment, applicants must be 18 years and above and also have WAEC School Certificate.

The Governor of Ebonyi State state, Francis Nwifuru, has approved the recruitment of 2,600 youths into the State command of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS).

The approval aims to enhance the capacity of security agencies in the State to fight banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminalities, especially those committed within the forests.

The Ebonyi State Commander of NHFSS, Igwe Larry, made the announcement in a statement, obtained by journalists.

According to him, the approval was a testimony of the confidence of the State government in the ability of the NHFSS to contribute effectively to the curbing of insecurity in the country by complementing the efforts of the Police, the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.

Larry, on behalf of the Commander General of NHFSS, Dr. Wole Osatimehin and the Deputy Commander General in (Technical Services), John Metchie, thanked Governor Nwifuru for the kind gesture and pledged the commitment of the organization to the security of lives and properties of the people of the state, especially in curbing forest- related crimes.

He also announced vacancies for recruitment of young men and women from Ebonyi State into the NHFSS.

The statement reads, “The Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service, Ebonyi State Command heartily appreciates the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for graciously approving the recruitment of 2,600 Ebonyi youths into the services of Ebonyi State Command of NHFSS.”

He said the approval is in tandem with the Ebonyi People’s Charter of Needs administration in Ebonyi State.

To qualify for recruitment, applicants must be 18 years and above and also have WAEC School Certificate, National Diploma, NCE, Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
