In Compliance With Labour Strike, Parliamentary Staff Shut Down Nigeria’s National Assembly

No one could go in or come out, including lawmakers.

Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASSAN) has shut down the country’s National Assembly complex in compliance with the directive of the Nigeria Labour Congress’ strike action.

All entries to the National Assembly were shut on Tuesday causing long traffic gridlock, while NASS staff and other commuters had to trek long distances to get to their destination.

Initially, access was granted, but by noon there was a total shutdown, no one could go in in or come out, including lawmakers.

Cars were turned back from accessing the complex.

The exercise was said to have been carried out by the National body of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria.
