Idris Elba To Direct Mo Abudu’s ‘Dust to Dreams’ Film

Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor and Atlanta Bridget Johnson will star in EbonyLife’s film directed by Idris Elba.

The film is a collaboration between Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Films and African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) through its Creative Africa Nexus (Canex).

Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, former Nigerian Idol competitor Constance Olatunde, are among the Nollywood talents that appear in the film. British musician Seal is also going to be starring in the film.

The film is created by Mo Abudu and she will serve as both executive producer and producer, while Elba will be directing.

Heidi Uys is the supervising producer and producers Temidayo Makanjuola, Inem King, and Vanessa Demme will be working along with Abudu on the project.

Elba and Abudu declared last year that they would be collaborating to develop up-and-coming African talent and produce a series of African films and television programmes.

“I am delighted to be working with Afreximbank and this incredibly talented team. Dust To Dreams is a story close to my heart, and I’m thrilled to bring it to life with such passionate collaborators,” said Abudu.

President and Chairman of Afreximbank, Benedict Oramah said, “The collaboration with EbonyLife Films is a testament to our commitment to empowering Africa’s creative economy through the Canex Programme. The Bank is committed to supporting Africa’s creative industries through financing, facilitation, providing market access solutions, capacity building and other services”.
