Hitech MD: Inauguration of Lagos-Calabar Highway Marks ‘Birth of a National Legacy’

Hitech’s MD Abboud praises President Tinubu’s leadership, calling the highway project a milestone achievement set to transform Nigeria’s transport infrastructure.

The Managing Director of Hitech Construction Company, Dany Abboud has described the inauguration of the 30-kilometre segment of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as the birth of a national legacy, praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership in realising the landmark infrastructure project.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Hitech boss expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to what he called a “milestone achievement” that promises to reshape Nigeria’s transportation landscape.

“It is with humility that I welcome the opportunity and privilege to address you on this milestone achievement. Today is a testimony to the leadership of Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,” the Managing Director stated.

He noted that the project goes far beyond laying concrete; it embodies a shared dream of national integration, economic transformation, and regional unity.

“We have come today not just to commission a project but to celebrate the birth of a national legacy — the Lagos-Calabar Connecting Highway,” he said.

He noted that the highway will traverse eight states Lagos – 103 kilometers, Ogun – 28 kilometers, Ondo – 72 kilometers, Delta – 165 kilometers, Bayelsa – 76 kilometers, Rivers – 132 kilometers, and Akwa Ibom – 107 kilometers, Cross River – 38 kilometers. 

“This road is not just a stretch of concrete,” the MD emphasised. “It is the manifestation of a dream.”

The Lagos-Calabar Highway, which aims to strengthen trade, tourism, and connectivity across Nigeria’s southern corridor, has been lauded as one of the most transformative infrastructure initiatives in recent decades.
