Governor Sule Signs ₦545.2bn Nasarawa 2026 Budget Into Law

Governor Abdullahi Sule signs Nasarawa’s 2026 budget of ₦545.2bn, pledging people-centred projects, fiscal discipline and effective implementation across the state.

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has signed into law the State 2026 budget of N545.2bn passed by the State Assembly.

The Governor signed the 2026 budget into law in a brief ceremony that took place at Conference Hall of Government House, Lafia, the state capital on Monday.

Governor Sule ,while signing the budget tagged “Budget of Strategic Consolidation” commended the speaker and members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for speedy passage of the State document.

He appreciated the synergy between the Executive and the Legislative arms calling for its sustenance reassuring that with the signing of the budget the State will witness more people’s oriented projects, programs and policies.

The Governor promised effective implementation of the budget and strict adherence to the budgetary provisions just as he used the occasion to call on stakeholders to contribute their best in realization of the dreams of the State founding fathers.

The Speaker of the House Dr. Danladi Jatau described the day as significant in the history of the State and reassured of the commitment of House under his watch to continue to champion things that will be of benefit to the State and his people.

He assured of more effective synergy with Executive for betterment of the people of the State, says budget passes through all legislative procedures.

“Today, is a special day again in the history of Nasarawa State, Your Excellency will recalled that on 26, of last month budget 2026 was presented before the House and we promised to pass it before the year runs out, and we passed it on 23rd of this month.

“The budget has passed through all legislative processes, committee exercise before passing into law,” e said.

The Speaker called for more enhanced synergy and support among arms of government for the betterment of the State and its people.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi gave an overview of the budget and its breakdown.

It will be recalled that the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has jerked up the 2026 budget by N27.6billion from N517.5 billion earlier presented by Gov. Sule making the total budget size stood at N545.2billion.

The total budget for Nasarawa State for the year 2026 as signed by Gov. Abdullahi Sule stands at N545,182,100, 910.14 only.

“Where Capital Expenditure is N316.265,270,661.07 billion and Recurrent Expenditure is N228.717,880,249.07 billion respectively,”

Our correspondent reports that the event had in attendance the Speaker of the State Assembly Danladi Jatau Principal officers and Hon. Members of the House, the Emir of Lafia Rtd Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad and some traditional rulers as well as members of the State Executive Council.
