Ettitoma-Owaza Community Confers Di-Na-Oha I Chieftaincy Title On Alamieyeseigha

Ettitoma-Owaza community honours Seleake Tariah Alamieyeseigha with Di-Na-Oha I title for peace-building and development efforts.

The Ettitoma Apu Oil and Gas Producing Community confers the chieftaincy title Di-Na-Oha I on Chief Seleake Tariah Alamieyeseigha during a ceremony held on December 13, 2025, recognising his contributions to community development and peace-building in the Niger Delta.

The event attracts dignitaries from Abia, Ebonyi and Rivers states, underscoring the importance of unity and collaboration among oil-producing communities amid ongoing industry and environmental challenges.

Alamieyeseigha, who is unavoidably absent, receives the title through his representative, Chief Hon. Ikenna Ukwa, reflecting his broad regional influence and longstanding engagement across Niger Delta communities.

Community leaders say the title, which translates to “Father of the People” in the local dialect, follows extensive consultations with traditional rulers from Ukwa West, Ezea and Ohaozara local government areas.

Speakers at the ceremony highlight Alamieyeseigha’s record in infrastructure development, educational support and advocacy for the Niger Delta, praising his philanthropic initiatives and youth empowerment programmes that have contributed to economic growth and social welfare.

He also earns commendation from Bayelsa youth groups for promoting economic renewal and youth inclusion in community affairs, as well as his involvement in peace-building, environmental sustainability and employment advocacy.

In a message conveyed at the ceremony, Alamieyeseigha pledges continued commitment to the growth and stability of Owaza and neighbouring communities, with traditional leaders expressing optimism that the honour will strengthen regional unity.

The ceremony concludes with traditional dances, cultural displays and communal feasting.
