The Group Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, Mesfin Tasew, has congratulated the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on his appointment by the African Development Bank (AfDB) as Champion of the $7 billion Integrated Aviation Transformation Programme for Africa (IATP).
In a personally signed message, Tasew described the appointment as recognition of Keyamo’s leadership and commitment to advancing aviation development in Nigeria and across the continent.
According to him, the confidence reposed in the Nigerian aviation minister by the AfDB reflects Africa’s belief in his capacity to drive a transformative agenda aimed at modernising the continent’s aviation ecosystem and attracting strategic investments.

He noted that the appointment comes at a critical period when African countries are seeking to leverage aviation as a catalyst for trade, tourism, investment and regional integration.
The Ethiopian Airlines chief expressed confidence that Keyamo’s leadership would help unlock new opportunities for airlines, airports and other stakeholders across Africa’s aviation value chain.
“We are confident that under your stewardship, the Integrated Aviation Transformation Programme will unlock new opportunities for African airlines, airports and aviation stakeholders.

The endorsement adds to growing continental support for Nigeria’s role in advancing aviation development across Africa and highlights the strategic partnerships expected to drive the implementation of the AfDB-backed programme.
Keyamo was recently appointed by the African Development Bank to champion the Integrated Aviation Transformation Programme, a continent-wide initiative designed to modernise Africa’s aviation sector and mobilise investment for sustainable growth.
