Emirates Resumes Dubai–Lagos Flights After Middle East Disruption

Emirates resumes Dubai–Lagos flights after week-long suspension caused by Middle East tensions, as relieved passengers arrive in Nigeria.

Flights by Emirates between Dubai and Lagos resumed on Friday, bringing relief to passengers after the airline suspended operations for a week due to tensions in the Middle East.

The airline’s flight EK 783 from Dubai landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at about 4:30 p.m., marking the restoration of the route that connects Nigeria’s commercial hub with the Gulf city.

Passengers arriving on the flight expressed relief at returning to Nigeria after the temporary disruption, which had left many travellers stranded or forced to alter their plans.

One of the passengers, Sunil Bansa, said he was pleased that normal operations had resumed after the uncertainty caused by the suspension.

Another traveller, Anyim Anthony, described the journey as smooth and said he was glad the airline had restarted flights to Lagos.

Similarly, Ayotunde Balogun expressed relief at arriving safely in Nigeria, noting that the resumption of flights would help ease travel difficulties faced by passengers during the disruption.

The airline had temporarily halted services following escalating tensions in parts of the Middle East, which affected several international flight routes.

With the resumption of operations, Emirates is expected to gradually restore its regular flight schedule between Dubai and Lagos, a key route for business and leisure travellers between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
