Edo Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu Impeached By State House Of Assembly  

The panel set up to investigate allegations of misconduct against Edo Deputy Governor Shaibu found him guilty of disclosing official secrets.

The Edo State House of Assembly, on Monday, has impeached Deputy Governor Comrade Philip Shaibu.

The Assembly, commencing its session at 9:41 am, conducted a voting process which resulted in the impeachment of the deputy governor. 

Out of the 20 members present, 18 voted in favour of the impeachment, with one member voting against it making,the decision to impeach Shaibu resolute.

According to the findings of a seven-man panel led by Justice Stephen Omonua (Rtd), which was established by the Chief Judge (CJ) of the state, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, Shaibu was found guilty of the offense of disclosure of official secrets.
