Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has called on Christians to embrace hope and unity as they celebrate Easter, extending goodwill to the faithful across the state and Nigeria.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Linus Obogo, the governor described Easter as the foundation of the Christian faith and a symbol of hope, redemption, and triumph over adversity.
Otu said the journey from Good Friday to Easter Sunday reflects a deeper message of renewal through faith and perseverance, noting that the resurrection of Christ underscores the enduring power of love, righteousness, and sacrifice.
He urged Christians to reflect the values of humility, forgiveness, and compassion in their daily lives, while promoting peace and unity in society.
The governor also called on Nigerians to use the Easter season to strengthen national cohesion and support one another, especially the vulnerable.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive development, Otu said efforts would continue to promote social harmony and economic growth across Cross River State.
He further encouraged Christians to celebrate with moderation and generosity, praying for peace, prosperity, and renewed hope for the state and the country.
