DSS Summons Awujale Nominees As Kingmakers Call Off Aafin Meet-And-Greet

Awujale nominees to report to DSS office in Ijebu-Ode as the Kingmakers cancel scheduled Aafin Awujale meet-and-greet.

The Awujale Kingmakers Council has officially cancelled the planned meet-and-greet with Awujale nominees that was earlier scheduled to take place at the Aafin Awujale. In place of the engagement, all nominees have been directed to report to the Department of State Services (DSS) office in Ijebu-Ode for further instructions.

A formal letter dated January 20, 2026, was addressed to the Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, his deputy, Otunba Dokun Ajidagba; and the Vice Chairman, Prof. Fassy Yusuf, outlining the sudden change in plans. The council explained that the decision to redirect nominees to the DSS office made the earlier engagement at the Aafin Awujale unnecessary.

According to the communication, all Awujale nominees are required to present themselves at the DSS office located along NTA Road, beside the State Psychiatric Hospital, off Igbeba Road, Ijebu-Ode, by 11:00 am prompt on Wednesday. The letter emphasises strict compliance and punctuality, underscoring the importance of adhering to official directives.

The council expressed regret for any inconvenience the cancellation may cause, highlighting that the decision was necessary to align with security and administrative protocols. The formal notice was signed by Chief Ayotunde Ola Odulaja, Secretary of the Awujale Afobaje Council, who urged all concerned parties to comply fully with the instructions.

As instructed, all nominees and associated stakeholders are expected to adhere strictly to the directive, reporting promptly and avoiding delays. The council reiterated its appreciation for cooperation and understanding during this period of administrative adjustments.
