Carla Jeffery, the actress best known for playing Bree in Disney Channel’s ZOMBIES movie franchise, has died at the age of 33.
Jeffery died on September 1, 2026, according to a statement shared by Alexanders Talent Management, her talent agency, on Wednesday.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Carla Jeffery, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at just 33 years old,” the agency said in a statement posted on Jeffery’s Instagram account.
The agency said Jeffery joined Alexanders Talent Management at the age of 12 and remained with the company for more than two decades.
“For more than 20 years, we had the privilege of watching her grow into a beautiful, vibrant, and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room,” the statement said.
Jeffery portrayed Bree in the first three ZOMBIES films, beginning with the original Disney Channel movie in 2018. She reprised the role in ZOMBIES 2 and 2022’s ZOMBIES 3.
She also voiced Bree in the animated series Zombies: The Re-Animated Series in 2024. “As Bree in Disney’s hit ZOMBIES franchise, Carla shared her joy, humor, and bright spirit with audiences around the world,” her agency said. “Carla was more than a client; she was family.”
The agency offered condolences to Jeffery’s family and loved ones and asked for privacy as they mourned her death.
“We respectfully ask that their privacy be honored as they grieve this unimaginable loss. Rest beautifully, Carla. Your light will never be forgotten,” the statement added.
Born in Houston, Texas, Jeffery began acting as a pre-teen and landed her first screen role at 10.
She played a younger version of Mo’Nique’s character, Jazmin, in the 2006 comedy film Phat Girlz.
Between 2007 and 2009, she had a recurring role as Keysha on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Her breakthrough with Disney came in 2018 when she joined the ZOMBIES franchise as Bree, a role that introduced her to audiences around the world.
News of Jeffery’s death prompted tributes from colleagues and fellow ZOMBIES actors.
Milo Manheim, who stars in the franchise, described Jeffery as “the sweetest person I have ever met” in the comments on her Instagram post. “I love you,” Manheim added.
Freya Skye, who joined the franchise in ZOMBIES 4, also paid tribute to Jeffery. “What a wonderful, bright, joyous human. Rest easy Carla.”
