Nick Reiner, the son of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and author Michele Singer Reiner, has been arrested following the discovery of the couple’s bodies in their Los Angeles home.
The couple were found stabbed to death on Sunday in what authorities described as an apparent homicide. Police officials, family friends, and individuals briefed on the matter confirmed the deaths, though they were not authorised to speak publicly.
Jail records show that Nick Reiner, 32, was taken into custody on Sunday night and is currently being held at a Los Angeles County jail on a $4 million bail. As of Monday, no formal criminal charges had been publicly disclosed.
In previous years, Reiner had spoken openly about his struggles with drug abuse and periods of homelessness that began during his teenage years. Despite those challenges, he later worked with his father on the 2016 film Being Charlie, a project loosely inspired by his early life experiences.
The investigation into the killings remains ongoing, with authorities yet to release further details surrounding the circumstances of the deaths.
