The Coca-Cola Company has announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell Chivita|Hollandia (CHI Limited) to UAC of Nigeria PLC, according to a press statement issued on July 30, 2025.
The statement described CHI Limited as a “leading food and beverage player in Nigeria,” with a portfolio that includes juices, dairy products, still drinks, and snacks. The Hollandia brand is currently the market leader in evaporated milk and drinking yoghurt, while the Chivita brand leads the fruit juice category.
Coca-Cola said the sale aligns with its global strategy to operate a “flexible and asset-light model” and to concentrate on brands with the greatest potential to scale. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to long-term investments in Nigeria, noting that it recently announced a $1 billion investment over five years, contingent on a “predictable and enabling environment.”
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
UAC of Nigeria, a domestic consumer goods holding company, was named as the buyer. The company operates nine manufacturing facilities and multiple logistics and distribution hubs across the country, employing more than 5,000 people.
Fola Aiyesimoju, Group Managing Director of UAC, said in the statement: “As a company with a strong presence in Africa, we are deeply committed to the continent’s growth. This acquisition presents significant potential to build on Chivita|Hollandia’s legacy of excellence and innovation.”
Eelco Weber, Managing Director of CHI Limited, praised the company’s progress in recent years and credited the staff for its success. “I would like to thank our over 5,000 employees for their hard work and dedication in bringing our business forward and earning us recognition as a Gold-rated Great Place to Work,” he said.
Weber added that the management team is optimistic about the future under UAC’s leadership. “With the strength of our team, coupled with the dedication of UAC, there will be exciting opportunities for further growth.”
Citi acted as exclusive financial advisor to The Coca-Cola Company. Legal advisory support was provided by McDermott Will & Emery for Coca-Cola, and by Fasken Martineau LLP and Templars Law for UAC.
