On the final day of the 2024–25 Premier League season, Chelsea and Manchester City secured UEFA Champions League spots, while Manchester United’s victory over Aston Villa denied the latter a place in Europe’s top competition.
Manchester City clinched third place with a 2-0 win at Fulham, joining champions Liverpool and runners-up Arsenal in the Champions League. Chelsea ensured their return to the competition with a 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
Newcastle United, despite a 1-0 home loss to Everton, secured fifth place and a Champions League berth, thanks to Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa. Villa’s defeat, marred by a controversial disallowed goal, left them in sixth place, qualifying for the Europa League.
The disallowed goal for Villa, scored by Morgan Rogers, was ruled out due to a foul on United’s goalkeeper, a decision that sparked debate and led to an official complaint from Villa.
Despite finishing 15th, Manchester United ended their season on a high note, with goals from Amad Diallo and Christian Eriksen securing the win.
