An enthralling Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain was bookended by goals from Kylian Mbappe.

The French superstar gave PSG an early lead in a repeat of last year’s final at a snowy Allianz Arena, combining with Neymar before beating Manuel Neuer too easily.

Captain Marquinhos doubled that advantage for Mauricio Pochettino’s side before being substituted due to injury, with Bayern – without star striker Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry – then fighting back through Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s superb header and a goal on the hour mark from Thomas Muller.

However, Mbappe put PSG back in control of the tie with their third away goal with just over 20 minutes remaining, coolly slotting through the legs of Jerome Boateng and in at the near post to settle a dramatic contest.
