The Baichi State Governorship Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, has announced his resignation from the party.
In a statement he signed and released to the media in Bauchi on Monday, Kashim, a former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, said his resignation from the party takes effect from 16th October 2026.
He assures his supporters that their political journey is far from over, and their commitment to the rescue and development of Bauchi State remains unwavering.
Kashim said he will communicate to his supporters the next phase of their struggle and the direction he intends to take.
He said: “My dear supporters, brothers and sisters, and the good people of Bauchi State, I wish to formally inform you that I have resigned my membership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), effective 16th October 2026. This decision, which follows careful reflection, does not in any way diminish my commitment to the political struggle for a better Bauchi State.
“My conviction remains that our dear state deserves purposeful leadership, a stronger economy, greater opportunities for our youths and women, improved security, and a future in which every citizen can live with dignity and hope.
“I wish to assure you that our political journey is far from over, and our commitment to the rescue and development of Bauchi State remains unwavering. We shall continue to engage constructively with all well-meaning individuals and groups who share our vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and economically vibrant Bauchi.
“In due course, we shall communicate to you the next phase of our struggle and the direction we intend to take. Until then, I urge you to remain calm, steadfast, and united in our collective determination to build the Bauchi State of our dreams. Our mission is bigger than any political party; it is about the future of our people and the destiny of our state and Country,” he said.
