Arsenal produced an excellent second-half performance to comfortably defeat struggling Newcastle 3-0 at the Emirates on Monday evening.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice, with Bukayo Saka also on the scoresheet, as the Gunners ended up cruising to victory – their fourth in five league games since the Boxing Day victory over Chelsea.

The Gunners have now kept clean sheets in five straight games in all competitions, their best such run in 12 years.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are in dire form, having now gone nine games without a win in all competitions – their previous defeat coming against bottom side Sheffield United, who had not previously won a league game all season.

There were also plenty of positives for Mikel Arteta to take from the gunners win over Newcastle, but it is unlikely anything will have been more pleasing than the sight of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting himself on the scoresheet.
