Atiku unveils ADC campaign council focused on cost of living, unemployment, insecurity and declining purchasing power ahead of 2027 elections.

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has approved a lean campaign council structure aimed at addressing the challenges facing Nigerians.

Under the structure, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam will serve as Chairman, while former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai will be Deputy Chairman.

Senator Austin Akobundu will serve as Director-General and Campaign Manager, with responsibility for coordinating the campaign’s strategy and operations.

Six Deputy Directors-General will oversee the campaign’s operational directorates, supported by 30 directors assigned specific responsibilities.

Dele Momodu will head Media and Communications, while Dino Melaye will lead Contact and Mobilisation.

Mohammed Hayatudeen will chair the Policy Team, alongside Professor Mohammed Sagagi and other members, including Professor Kingsley Moghalu.

The team will be responsible for developing policy proposals addressing challenges identified by Nigerians, according to a statement issued on Thursday by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council.

Former INEC Chairman John Oyegun will chair the Campaign Advisory Board.

The statement said the campaign structure was designed to ensure that every directorate and appointee had defined responsibilities and was accountable for results.

It added that the campaign would focus on issues including the cost of living, unemployment, insecurity and declining purchasing power.

Shaibu said the campaign’s objective was to organise effectively around these issues and work towards making Nigeria more affordable for citizens.
