Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Released Under Investigation As Police Continue Royal Lodge Search

Police continue searching Royal Lodge as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor returns to Sandringham Estate under ongoing misconduct investigation.

Detectives from Thames Valley Police have resumed searches at Royal Lodge in Berkshire following the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The former duke was released under investigation and returned to the Sandringham Estate after spending time in custody. Being released under investigation means he faces no bail conditions but can be reinterviewed or rearrested as inquiries continue.

In a statement, King Charles III said “the law must take its course” and confirmed full co-operation with authorities. He was not informed of the arrest in advance and will not comment further while the process continues. Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales are understood to support his remarks.

The arrest follows an assessment of allegations linked to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied wrongdoing and has not responded to requests for comment regarding specific claims.

Police activity remains ongoing at Royal Lodge as investigators determine whether sufficient evidence exists to refer the case to the Crown Prosecution Service.
