Adekunle Gold Announces First Collaboration With Olamide

Adekunle Gold reveals upcoming collaboration with Olamide, marking their first joint release years after working under YBNL label.

Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has hinted at an upcoming collaboration with rapper Olamide, which would mark their first official track together.

The announcement was made on April 6, 2026, via Adekunle Gold’s social media platforms, where he revealed plans for the release scheduled for April 9. The singer, who previously worked under Olamide’s YBNL label, shared a brief message suggesting a joint project between both artists.

In the post, he wrote:
“First time ever, me and @Olamide
Formation. April 9.”

Adekunle Gold, born Adekunle Kosoko, rose to prominence during his time with YBNL in the mid-2010s, where he gained recognition with his breakout single Sade. Despite their professional relationship at the time, both artists did not release any collaborative track while he was signed to the label.

The singer exited YBNL in 2016 and has since established an independent career, evolving his sound and gaining wider international attention. Olamide, on the other hand, has continued to build YBNL into a leading force in Nigeria’s music industry, supporting the emergence of several artists.

Speculation about a possible collaboration between the two gained momentum in December when Olamide made a surprise appearance at Adekunle Gold’s concert at the National Theatre in Lagos, where he introduced him on stage.

With the April 9 release date now indicated, the anticipated track is expected to bring both artists together creatively for the first time since their earlier association under the same label.

The development has drawn attention among listeners, as both musicians have undergone significant artistic growth over the years, making the collaboration a notable moment in their careers.
