Abba Yusuf To Tinubu: Kano Will Benefit From Stronger Federal Collaboration

Kano Governor Abba Yusuf tells Tinubu the state seeks enhanced federal support for security, infrastructure, and development projects.

Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, met with President Bola Tinubu on Monday to present his administration’s priorities on security, infrastructure, and stronger partnership with the federal government.

In a statement on Tuesday, Sunisu Bature, spokesperson for the governor, said the closed-door meeting was used to formally brief the president on pressing challenges and opportunities in Kano, particularly worsening insecurity in some local government areas.

“He informed President Tinubu about the recent tragic killing of a housewife and her children, stressing the need for decisive federal support to strengthen security operations and protect innocent citizens,” the statement reads.

“The governor highlighted the role of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps in complementing security agencies and called for deeper collaboration with federal security institutions.

“Governor Yusuf also discussed Kano’s development agenda, with special focus on mega infrastructure projects.

“He used the opportunity to thank the President about federal intervention on the Wujuwuju Road describing it as critical step to unlocking economic growth and job creation.”

Bature said the governor sought Tinubu’s support and cooperation to fast-track federal projects and ensure Kano benefits maximally from federal programmes and investments.

He added that Tinubu assured Yusuf of the federal government’s readiness to work with Kano State to tackle insecurity and drive sustainable development.
