Netanyahu Says Israel Agrees To New Gaza Truce Proposal From US Envoy Witkoff

Netanyahu said Israel accepted a new Gaza ceasefire proposal from US envoy Steve Witkoff, Israeli media reported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed the families of hostages held in Gaza that Israel has accepted a new ceasefire proposal, according to reports from Israeli media on Thursday.

The plan was presented by Steve Witkoff, the Middle East envoy for US President Donald Trump.

The development marks a potential turning point in ongoing efforts to bring an end to the prolonged conflict between Israel and Hamas, and to secure the release of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian militant group Hamas earlier confirmed that it had received the proposal through mediators and is currently reviewing its terms.

Details of the ceasefire plan have not yet been publicly disclosed, but the acceptance by Israel signal renewed diplomatic momentum in a conflict that has taken a devastating toll on both sides.

This latest proposal follows a series of stalled negotiations and fragile truces, with international pressure mounting for a sustainable resolution and the safe return of hostages.

The coming days will be critical as Hamas concludes its review and communicates its decision—one that could either pave the way for de-escalation or prolong the violence in the region.
