The Director of Media, Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Bayelsa State chapter, Udengs Eradiri, has commended Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors for mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Eradiri, a former President of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide and former Bayelsa State commissioner, made the commendation in a statement issued to journalists in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
He praised Tompolo’s door-to-door campaign and Wike’s town hall meetings and stakeholder engagements under the Rainbow Coalition, describing their efforts as crucial to securing Tinubu’s second term.
“The Bayelsa State chapter of the Tinubu Support Group commends and appreciates Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, for the consistent door-to-door campaign that he is doing to mobilise support for Mr President, not only in the Niger Delta but also across the country,” he said.
According to Eradiri, Tompolo has committed personal resources to the campaign because he appreciates the administration’s contributions to Nigeria and the Niger Delta.
He added that Tompolo was also engaging influential stakeholders privately to explain the president’s policies and secure their support.
Eradiri equally praised Wike for his political engagements and efforts to reconcile opposing political interests in Rivers State and Abuja in support of Tinubu’s re-election.
He also commended political leaders and governors reportedly mobilising support in Kaduna, Katsina, Imo and Rivers states, urging other APC leaders, particularly in the North, to intensify preparations for the 2027 general election.
He warned that the party could not afford complacency, stressing that electoral victory would depend on strategic planning, sustained voter engagement and collective commitment.
“It is not when we win the election that you will begin to complain of rigging. He who fails to plan has already planned to fail,” Eradiri said, challenging opposition parties to match the APC’s mobilisation efforts.
Defending Tinubu’s economic reforms, Eradiri acknowledged that changing an established economic system could cause short-term hardship but argued that the policies were intended to reposition the country for long-term prosperity.
“Changing a system that has not worked before is not easy; it requires patience and some pains,” he said.
He maintained that four years would be insufficient for the reforms to achieve their full potential, insisting that Tinubu needed another term to consolidate his policies and deliver their expected benefits.
Eradiri also appealed to northern political leaders and stakeholders to support Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that a second term would allow the South to complete its expected turn in Nigeria’s power-rotation arrangement before younger northern politicians assume leadership.
